What does Randy see when the highwaymen ambush him and what does he do?

Randy sees the blocked opposite end of a narrow bridge and revises tactics. He tells Bill and Sam to take the back and forget the sides. He'll help Malachai in the front. Their Model-A blocks the bridge and has a man at each bumper. Randy recognizes them from Dan's description. He counts four armed men but no woman. Randy tells Malachai to drive right up to them and Bill to let the ones in the rear get close too.
