They find Dan beaten bloody and in shock in the dining room. Randy and Bill take him upstairs to bed. Randy checks his pulse and calls for whiskey but Helen says no whiskey and she'll handle this. She gives him water with salt and soda and asks about the medicine chest. Randy asks for Dan's bag and Helen says highwaymen took it and the car.
