How does Pat Frank address racism in 1950s with the book, Alas Babylon?

Frank mildly addresses racism early in the novel. It is not, however, a major theme. Over the course of the novel any question of difference amongst humanity are erased.... our characters are focused on one thing, survival, and helping their neighbors.
