Boat keys symbolize crime. The boat keys are smuggled by Mae Capone onto Alcatraz, after which time they are passed along to Seven Fingers, Buddy Boy, and Willy One Arm for use in their escape attempt. The boat keys will allow them to hijack the ferry and cruise to wherever they seek to go to get away.
