What does Purple Blanket represent?

This purple blanket represents another source of comfort for Nat. Most of this blanket is destroyed in the apartment fire. Moose is able to find a piece of the blanket and hopes that it will bring Nat enough comfort to calm her anxiety from after the fire. The blanket piece, however, does not work as well as Moose had hoped.
