Who is Aqua Veen from Ada; or, Ardor: A Family Chronicle and what is their importance?

Aqua Veen is Marina's sister. She is married to Walter D. Veen, who is best known as Demon. Aqua has one son, Van, and she spends most of her life in sanitariums or hospitals. Aqua dies while still a fairly young woman.
