What happens to King McCloud in the opening pages of the novel, A Vow of Glory?

In the opening pages of the novel, King McCloud is being paraded through the streets of his kingdom, as Andronicus has just taken him captive. Andronicus also brands McCloud’s face with the symbol of his kingdom and then holds him captive until he can be thinned down and his head shrunken for Andronicus’ necklace of heads.
