The style can be found in the language of the poetry. Since Willard is very good at writing seamless verse with impeccable scansion and syllabification, and because this is a children's book, at first it may be possible to miss the elegant and mature use of language in this book. Dealing with spiritual themes, sometimes the verses have a scriptural cadence, such as "and many are the stars he's named/ and many those who stop and take/their joyful rest with William Blake."
