Why does Judge Noose impose a gag order?

During a recess in a change of venue hearing, Judge Noose explains his reason for likely having to impose a gag order. He stipulates that both Jake and Buckley have been competing for the same media spotlight. The judge has had to lecture or cut off the attorneys more than once during the hearing. Jake indicated he was thinking of requesting such an order. The judge subsequently imposed it.
