Importance of Racy Negligee

The racy negligee represents diversion. Josie wears this negligee hoping that it will distract Stuart from violence and that he will decide instead to be romantic. Josie’s plan does not work. Stuart accuses Josie of cheating on him and having entertained a boyfriend before he came home.
