Rolf Linden was a German POW. He and Catherine Tarrant fell in love when he came to help her on her farm. When Catherine wrote a letter of appeal to Charles Harris on Rolf's behalf, Rolf was quickly apprehended by the authorities and taken away. He died of influenza shortly after.
