In Chapter 45, Jaime Lannister is more honorable than he is willing to admit. He first concedes to Roose Bolton's will and lets Brienne Tarth be taken by Vargo Hoat. However, the next night, he has a dream about Brienne, and he feels he must go back to save her. The dream is symbolic of her actual plight, as she is trapped in a pit with a bear.
