Why did Bex change her mind about going into the Center with Wren?

Bex was going to wait in the car for Wren, so she let Wren out of the car. When Wren walked toward the building, a woman leaned over and reached for her. That changed Bex's mind. She got out of the car and escorted Wren into the building.
