Who is Dr. Louie Ward?

Louie is an African-American man who grew up in the South. He was raised by several strong women in his community. When he was a child, his mother got pregnant and went to a Voodoo priestess to end the pregnancy. She died as a result and it was Louie who found her body. Though he was too young at the time to understand what happened, later in life he decided to become an abortion doctor to help women like his mother who had no other options.
