Ultrasound Picture

The ultrasound picture that Joy carries with her to the Center is a representation of Joy’s sorrow over having to abort her baby. Joy believes she has no choice but to abort the baby because she does not have the means to raise it on her own. It is not a decision she makes lightly, which is shown by the fact that she asks for a picture from the ultrasound and then carries it with her to the Center for her abortion appointment.
