Importance of light

Light symbolizes both life and death. Louie reads a medical journal article about scientists finding that when a sperm and egg connect, there is a little spark given off. While reading it, he thinks about patients who are close to death describing a bright light. He thinks it is appropriate that life both begins and ends with light.
