Lucien comes to the overseer's cabin where Rosalie is staying after Jane swims naked in the pond. He wonders who she has talked to about Jane, and she swears that she has spoken to no one. He orders her to not say anything about the girl. Then he wonders why Rosalie did not cover her. Rosalie says that she tried to, but the girl would not hold still so she could tie the blanket around her. Then Madame Sylvie started screaming at her, so she ran.
