When Sylvie and Le Brun speak, Sylvie mentions how Marie Antoinette's dog, Thisbe, went to the guillotine after the queen's death and howled. Thisbe was surprised to learn she had been named for a dog. She does not show how she feels, but she realizes that later when she can be alone she will express her outrage.
