Why does Cleopatra compare Tully to Odysseus?

Cleopatra compares Tully's decision to join her crew to a scene from The Odyssey. Odysseus must make his way through a difficult passage where one side of the passage is Scylla, a lovely maiden who is turned into a six-headed monster by her rival. On the other side is Charybdis - a dangerous whirlpool. Like Tully, Odysseus made it through the danger.
