What becomes of Lister's conch?

After getting lost and showing up in a snowstorm, traveling through the islands, being left behind on the Lucretia, and then finally returned to Tully, Lister's conch had been many places. Tully finally gives it to Montana, who takes it with her to visit her grandfather in Montana. When she returns, she is wearing it on a gold chain around her neck. Like Tully, Lister's conch found a home.
