What are some character traits of Joey in Chapter 6?

In Chapter Six, we see some additional character traits in Joey that we've not seen yet. It is in this chapter that we see the intense desire he has for learning to drive a car and a changed perspective toward his grandmother. The rummage sale not only opens his eyes to his grandmother's wit and survival instincts, but her ability to maniuplate the town's leaders as well.
