Who is Charles Linfield?

Charles is the only wealthy bachelor who lives near Kitty's home, and they are engaged until he announces plans to marry someone else. Kitty later learns that he had discovered the past scandal about Kitty's mother. He appears only once but is an important character because his decision to break his engagement results in Kitty traveling to London. He seems rude, entitled, and immature.
