Who is Sharanda Jones from the nonfiction book, A Knock at Midnight?

Sharanda Jones is the second key protagonist in A Knock at Midnight. In many ways, Sharanda’s personality parallels Brittany’s. She is hardworking and entrepreneurial – like Brittany successfully pursuing her dream of becoming a lawyer despite her rural and impoverished background, Sharanda overcomes her circumstances to found her own restaurant and hair salon. She is loyal and passionate about her family; like Brittany, who provided for her sister and built a strong relationship with her mother, Sharanda goes to extreme lengths to assist with her mother’s medical care in prison and remains dedicated to her relationship with her daughter even while she is incarcerated.
