Who is Xenophon from the book, A History of My Times?

Xenophon is the author of the book. He wrote it later in his life, in the Greek language that was prevalent at the time. This man's life was a bit complicated. One reason for this was that although he was born in Athens, there was a time when he ended up leading a group of 10,000 men as part of the Athenian military. Then, they were somehow 'cast off' from the rest of the military force, partly due to losses and Xenophon struggled with how to look out for them under trying conditions.
