Who is the narrator of the story in Chapter Two?

The narrator of Chapter Two is the daughter of Catholic parents. Her maternal grandmother was Catholic, but her maternal grandfather believed in Confucianism. She lived on the bank of a river near Hanoi, and then they moved to Saigon. Eventually, she immigrated to the U.S. with her family.
