What happens to Rajaram that prompts him to leave his job at the government?

Rajaram convinces an old man to have a sterilization surgery that he does not need and the man dies of complications resulting from the procedure. The family of the man seeks out Rajaram for revenge, and Rajaram realizes that he cannot cope with the manipulation that the government job demands.
