In a Feast for Crows, Sam finds Dareon, one of his Night's Watch brothers, carousing in the tavern. Not only does he accuse Dareon of breaking their vows of celibacy, but it is evident that Dareon has spent all of the money that Sam had given him to bring back supplies for the ailing Maester.
