Arya, in a Feast for Crows, runs to the temple hoping to gain sanctuary for the night. She meets a young girl with an old man. The Old Man asks her if she was afraid of anything. She says that she is not. He then reveals his face from the folds of the hooded cloak. It is a hideous face with worms crawling out of the sockets. To prove that she is not afraid, she plucks a worm from the man's eyes and eats it in front of him. The old man laughs and his face transforms back into a kindly old man's face. It was a test, he explains. Then they take her to the temple.
