In A Feast for Crows Brienne and the others find out from the Elder Brother that many things are found floating downstream and usually end up on their shores. He says that very often they find survivors and that they patch them up and send them on their way. Brienne has been learning that the men that fight for the nobles are little more than farmers with pointed sticks and would rather be home.
