Was it worth waiting to get married in A Farewell to Arms?

In context, no, Henry and Catherine could have married, and as a result, would have been able to spend more time together, and they wouldn't have had to sneak around. They gave up precious moments and memories by waiting.... and Catherine died before they could actually go through with the marriage.
