What does Buddy do when Clarity goes into the barn in the novel, A Dog’s Journey?

Clarity goes into the barn and gets in the stall with the horse. Toby becomes agitated the closer Clarity gets to him. Buddy forces his way inside the horse's stall. He was afraid that Toby would step on the baby. Buddy was afraid of the horse, but he lunged forward and put himself between Clarity and Troy. He barked and pushed Clarity into the corner. Hannah heard Buddy barking and came running.
