Who is Henri de Bar from A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century and what is their importance?

Henri de Bar, Marie's husband, accompanies her father on crusade to Hungary. While returning home, Henri contracts the plague, presumably in Venice. He dies before reaching France.
