Who is Micky Miranda from A Dangerous Fortune and what is their importance?

Micky is a student at the Windfield School. He is from the South American country of Cordova. He is present at the quarry pool when Peter Middleton drowns and concocts a story with Edward to explain the events, setting the stage for what is to follow in the next thirty years. He does not want to go home to Cordova for the summer and manages to swing an invitation to spend the summer with the Pilasters.
