What is the Bog of Oorid like?

The air at the bog is heavy with no breeze. The place is a wasteland and totally dead. The water is solid black. Where the water meets grass, there are no blades visible. The trees are dead and gray with age and weather. Some of them are draped with moss, but there are no leaves. There are no insects and no birds.
