What do you think the appearance of Dim and Billyboy add to the novel's theme of authority?

A major theme of A Clockwork Orange is the corrupt and impure nature of authority. By putting former criminals like Alex into the shoes of police officers, the novel shows that often, authority figures are no better than the criminals that they seek to punish. In fact, they may be one and the same.
