Varys from A Clash of Kings is an advisor to the King, but in reality he is a spy for those that it suits him to speak to. A Eunach, he rose himself up to a place of importance at court. His ability to know everything that is going on is legendary. He and Littlefinger do not like one another, and though he seems to be working mostly on Tyrion's behalf, neither man trusts the other.
