After John Berry learns that Art Lee has been arrested, he recalls conversations the two men had had about abortion. In one instance, John had overheard somebody imply that abortions were being conducted at their medical facility. He took this concern to Art. It turned out that Art, with assistance from their supervisor, had been performing abortions, even though they were illegal. John warned him, saying that continuing to perform abortions was insane.
