10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World is written from the third person point of view. Over the course of Part One, “The Body,” the narrator follows Leila’s final moments of consciousness following her death. In Part Two, “The Body,” the narrator adopts a free indirect third person perspective, moving in and out of the thoughts and hearts of each of Leila’s friends. In Part Three, “The Soul,” the narrator moves between Leila’s friends’ minds, as well as Leila’s spirit in the final sections of the novel.
