Did the ending of Outcasts of Poker Flat surprise you?

Not really, the outcasts were unprepared for their stay in the cabin, not to mention, they made poor choices while there. Their mules are gone, they're stuck in the cabin because of the snowfall, they don't have enough food, and they do not ration their food properly. Sadly, their demise seems to have been fated.
