• The narrator takes off her hospital gown, moves to the edge of the bed, and vomits.

• The narrator yells to the nurse that she wants her epidural.

• The nurse tells her she will get it soon.

• The smaller nurse inserts gloved fingers into the narrator to check her dilation and tells her again that she was not progressing.
