1) Class Discussion: Why did the publisher feel the need to add a note to the reader about the book? What kind of information does a publisher typically put in notes at the beginning of a book?
2) Group Discussion: The Publisher's Note gives the reader two important topics of information. What are those two topics? List the facts given for each topic. For example, when was the book written? When was it published? Does the Note explain how or why Maclean wrote this book? What do you know about the book and the author from the Note?
