In Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters, wicked Lord Felmet kills the king of Lancre and takes over the throne. Three witches, who have hidden the true heir to the throne, must overthrow Felmet by revealing the truth and not interfering in government with their powers. The novel begins amid a fierce storm. Huddled beneath a tree and bent before a cauldron, a coven of three witches adjourns, discussing when next they will meet. At this point the author digresses to introduce the setting. In this lesson, the book is introduced, and students will learn about exposition. Students will define exposition and will be able to successfully identify elements of exposition in Wyrd Sisters.
