Which Traveler Are You?

Have each student come to class dressed up as the character in the story they feel they are most like.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Have each student create a map of Oz and the different places that the travelers go to.

It's a Twister!

Have each student research tornadoes and see if there are any cases in which a tornado did lift a house and drop it somewhere else with a person inside.

Comparing the Movie

Have students watch the film of The Wizard of Oz and compare the structure of the book to the movie. Many things were cut from the book, while many things were added to the film version. Have students decide which version they like better and why.

There's No Place Like Home

Have students research Kansas and find out whether it's as dreary a place as it sounds...
