Objective
In Chapter 1, Eve Dallas and her husband, Roarke, are at the recently opened New Globe Theater watching a production of "Witness for the Prosecution." Because the time frame is 2059, many of the things in the book have "new" attached to them. Discuss the updated versions of places and things as they might appear in the future.
Lesson
1. Roarke opens the New Globe Theater in New York City, a theater which features as its first play Agatha Christie's "Witness for the Prosecution." This is the first taste readers get of the author's updated places and things as they might appear in 2059. The references play an important part for what reason? What event happens that separates current times from 2059? Why have some of the names changed, e.g. New Globe Theater, New LA, etc? How does simply adding "new" make any difference?
