Dorothy L. Sayers is an English author best known for her mystery stories set in the years between the two world wars. Sayers published several books featuring her Lord Peter Wimsey character including "Strong Poison", "Five Red Herrings", and "The Nine Tailors". This lesson discusses Dorothy L. Sayers, the author of "Whose Body?"
Lesson
1) Library Research: Have the students research the author, Dorothy L. Sayers. Explore the other works she has written, as well as her personal background. Take a look at biographical information and critical essays to gain information on her writing and where "Whose Body?" fits in with her other novels.
2) Presentation: Have students get into pairs and prepare a presentation, using their research, on Sayers and her canon. Have each group read an excerpt from different novels written by Sayers during their presentation. At the end of the presentations...
