Small Group Activity: From whom are the letters? Research these historical figures.
Class Discussion: Share the responses from the small group activity. What have you learned about these historical figures? What do they have in common? What are their differences?
Homework: Is this opening effective? Why or why not? What does it give the story? How do the historical figures enhance the story?
