Objective

White Fang is a novel by American author Jack London. First published as a serial in Outing magazine in 1906, the story is set in Yukon Territory, Canada, during the Klondike Gold Rush. The narrator of White Fang is omniscient, which is a challenging choice for a writer when the main characters are animals. Students in this lesson will research Jack London, read Chapter 1: “The Trail of Meat,” and analyze and discuss the narrative point of view in the novel.
