Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze the effect of Forche's use of the first-person point of view. Within the first section of this book, the reader learns many intimate details about Forche's background, as well as her current state of mind. Especially in light of the fact that Forche decides to undertake a risky and dangerous endeavor with a man she barely knows (Leonel), her use of the first-person point of view allows readers an intimate window into her motivations and emotions.
