Nicknames
Have all the students write any nickname they have had at some point in their life on a piece of paper and fold it up and put it into a jar, without their given name on it. Have all the students' given names on one side of a paper and the nicknames in different order down the other side. Have the students try to match the nicknames with the person. This is just for fun so once they are finished just read down the list of nicknames and have the students say which is their nickname.
Pets, Pets and more Pets
If you are permitted, have the students bring in pets. If not, have the students draw pictures of the Mulvaney pets and some of their own pets and hang them on the walls. You might even want to see if anyone can remember the names of...
