Political Cartoons

Draw a political cartoon like those in the newspaper. Have it reflect the views of either the Communists or the "Whites".

Collages

Keep old magazines in the classroom so students can create collages using images that reflect the novel. They can choose to create a collage that represents a specific character, place, or event. Students should keep the symbolism of the novel in mind while making their collages.

Word search

Make your own word search using important words from the novel. Use vocabulary words, locations, characters, and symbolic objects. Make copies of your word search for the class to do.

Talk Show

Students will create an impromptu talk show featuring the characters in "We the Living". One or two students should be the host of the show. Other students will be the characters and the audience. Hosts need a list of questions to ask the characters...
